Bribery offences

It is an offence under the Bribery Act to give or offer, or to request or receive, an inducement to act improperly in one's employment. In addition, it is a corporate offence for a commercial organisation to fail to prevent anyone committing a bribery offence on the organisation's behalf.

The only defence for your firm is to have adequate anti-bribery procedures in place - including appropriate staff training.

Compliance Training Products offers a wide range of training and reference materials on compliance topics. See the full range at:

Training on Record for Bribery Prevention
(The Bribery Act 2010)

All firms are at risk under the Bribery Act. Offences don't only arise when giant corporations compete to win overseas government contracts. You need to have policies covering such mundane matters as business gifts, working lunches and corporate hospitality, and you need your staff to understand their relevance and importance.

Training on Record gives you a practical way of protecting your firm by training your staff, and being able to show that training has been provided. A learning module sets out the essentials clearly, and a short awareness test demonstrates that all members of staff understand their responsibilities.
